Our Future Goals
- Show appreciation for our students with special discounts,
student spotlights, and educational drum clinics and workshops.
- Create drumming excitement through hosting special clinics
and workshops.
- Highlight local drummers and local bands.
- Host charity percussion events to help the community.
- Assemble pecussion summer camps for the youth of Lexington
and the surrounding counties.
Russ and Sandy Highland
Russ and Sandy Highland, the current owners of the Drum Center
of Lexington, purchased the business from Candice Toole on June
26th, 2007. Russ and Sandy have been married since 1990, and both
have lived in Lexington most of their lives. In addition, both
Russ and Sandy have an extreme passion and respect for music.

Russ Highland has been drumming since the age of 13, and he was
one of Kevin's first customers at the Drum Center of Lexington.
He has drummed for many area bands including Magic, Toys, Dixie
LaRue, 5-Below, and Catch 22. Russ currently serves as bandleader
and percussionist for Northeast Christian Church. |

Sandy Highland comes from a large family of vocalists, songwriters,
and musicians. She has served as a background vocalist for several
country and Christian music publications. Sandy is currently a
praise team vocalist at Northeast Christian Church. |

Tina Burus-Jacobs began her
music career at the age of fourteen as a country music recording
artist in Nashville, Tennessee. She is Sandy's sister and
loves helping out in the Drum Center whenever she is available. |
Kevin Toole (1955-2007)
Kevin Toole opened the Drum Center of Lexington in 1993. In 2006,
he was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. He passed away on
June 11, 2007. He is survived by his wife Candice and his two
daughters, Hannah and Meagan.
