DRUM CENTER LESSONS
The Drum Center of Lexington offers drum lessons Monday through Saturday to students of all ages and abilities. Lessons generally meet once a week for 30 minutes and cost $20 a lesson. For more information, please contact the store or one of our individual teachers.

Dave Farris
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Dave Farris has been teaching at the Drum Center since the first day it opened (14 years +). Dave has travelled the globe, studying with great percussionists like Madawo Gideon Folie Alorwoyie (Ghana), Anthony Carillo (Puerto Rico), Ya Ya Diallo (Mali), Raj Pandya (India), and Jim Campbell (USA). Dave has perfomed with the great jazz organist Jack McDuff and Parliment Funkadelic co-founder Bernie Worrell. Dave currently peforms locally with Club Dub, The Tall Boys, and Big Fresh.

John Johnson
Monday, Thursday
John Johnson has been playing drums professionally for over 22 years and has been teaching for the last 7 years. John served as the band leader for 10 years for the popular dance band Tone Control. In addition to managing the Drum Center, John also plays in the house bands at the Maverick Club in Richmond (Fri, Sat) and the Grapevine in Lexington (Sunday).

Ben Davis
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
Ben Davis holds a bachelor's in Music Performance from Eastern Kentucky University and has spent time studying drumset and hand percussion in Brazil. Ben has instructed and composed for championship marching bands in Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, and Indiana. Ben currently performs with several Central Kentucky bands including Swing Insight and Exit Right Here. Ben also serves as the percussionist for First Baptist Church in Richmond, KY.

Jon Dittert
Wednesday, Friday, Saturday
Jon Dittert is the newest member of the Drum Center staff, but has been playing drums nearly his whole life. A well rounded percussionist, Jon has experience with rock drumming, concert band, marching band, contemporary worship drumming, and musical theater. He performs locally in the pit at the Woodford Theater and with the classic rock band Business Time. For more information, visit www.jondittertdrums.com.
